It's no coincidence that the BVI (British Virgin Islands) is one of the most popular cruising destinations for sailors, pirates, and charter guests. Located a few miles east of Puerto Rico, the BVI is just a 2.5 hour flight from Miami. The BVI is a comprised of a chain of 60 islands, varying in size and arrangement. The layout of these islands provides a unique "playground" for visitors to explore. The islands are all close together, so land will remain in sight at all times, the waters are mild, and voyages between anchorages are short. Each anchorage offers a perfect variety of beaches, snorkeling, hiking, bars, restaurants, swimming, and excursions. To simply call it "paradise" does not do the BVI justice for all of the magic and beauty this destination offers.
